"Violence against women is not just a problem of violent men. The problem goes much deeper. The difficulty lies with the attitudes many men have about their 'right' to dominate women. Violence against womens is primarily the result of gender inequality in Society. To end violence against women, attitudes and beliefs about gender inequality must be addressed. And this must include men. In a series of innovative workshop, the Fiji Women's Crisis Centtre, together with sister organisation from other Pacific island countries, are developing a group of men to become male 'advocates' against violence against women. This documentary highlights the process of transformation for these men, who are all influential members of their communities. The workhops intend to develop these men as advocates against violence against women, not only in their work, but their home lives as well. It is hoped that the 'ripple effect' created by these men will help decrease and eventually end violence against women in Pacific island countries."
