"This report contains a summary of discussions on the economic, religious and cultural factors that can result from or contribute to the perpetration of violence against women, often perceived as a "natural" or "normal" part of relations between men and women in Pacific societies. It highlights findings from a Pacific Regional Scan of government and non-government responses to violence against women conducted by UNIFEM Pacific, and presents the Commonwealth Secretariat's integrated approach for the elimination of violence against women. This integrated approach articulates the need to involve stakeholders from all areas of govenrment, non-governmental and civil society organisations tom implement commitments to eliminate violence against women.
