In late 2004, a UNIFEM/SPC film crew visited the Papua New Guinea province of Bougainville, where the forced shutdown of the multi-million dollar foreign-owned Panguna copper mine in late 1988 turned a national government against its cash-spinning province and a small island community on itself. "Picking up the pieces" uncovers the insanity of the ten years of violence which followed, and the terrible lasting impact of war on women, children and communities long after the killing has ended"
